A good education is important to our children's future, and Louisville schools makes this a top priority. Louisville has many options for schooling from public schools, private schools, catholic schools, colleges and universities.

Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) have been honored by some of the top national and independent organizations. Four schools (Ballard, Eastern, Male and Manual) made Newsweek's top high schools in the US for 2006, while Crosby Middle made a short list of 27 top "Schools to Watch".

JCPS is not the only ones winning honors, several students are also winning nation awards for art, science and engineering, speaking, spelling, mathematics and more.

If your more interested in your child attending a catholic school, then you are in luck. Saint Xavier and Trinity (both male) are nationally known for high academics and stellar athletics. Saint Xavier has the most successful athletic program in Kentucky with 133 state championships, while 38 students were honored by the National Merit Scholarship Program in 2006. Trinity has been honored with the Blue Ribbon School of Excellence with acceptance into 160 colleges and universities across the country in 2006, including Stanford, Yale, Harvard, MIT and Notre Dame, just to name a few.

Louisville has a wide range of colleges and universities to meet your desire for higher education. Everything for major universites like the University of Louisville, to community colleges like Jefferson Community & Technical Colleges, to a couple Theological Seminaries and specialty schools like the Liberal Arts of Bellermine University offers a wide range of options

As you can see, with so many options, Louisville has put you and your childrens education a top priority.
