Ranked as the 16th largest city in the United States and voted
by some to be one of the top cities to live, its no wonder that
Louisville, and it central location, has attracted some of the top
employers in the country include several Fortune 500 companies.
Healthcare is big business here in Louisville, employing over 45,000
employees, and offering groundbreaking technology advances and earning
top awards in the medical field. Humana and Kindred Healthcare,
both Fortune 500 companies, are headquartered right here in Louisville.
Healthcare is not the only industry in Louisville. Many other major
companies have made a home in Louisville including national pizza
giant, Papa John's; Brown Forman (Woodford Reserve, Jack Daniels,
Southern Comfort, Korbel, Finlandia, Bolla and more); Yum! Brands
(Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, KFC and Long John Silvers); and UPS, who
operates its global air distribution hub here is Louisville and
is our largest employer.
While white collar jobs are the majority in Louisville, that is
not to say we don't have our fare share of top-notch blue collar
jobs. Ford operates two plants, employing almost 9,000 while General
Electric employs roughly 5,000 at their plant.
Louisville tourism is a growing and often overlooked industry.
Events like the Kentucky Derby, Breeders Cup, PGA Tour and NCAA
sports bring in a lot of revenue to Louisville, helping every business
